First off this is sailor cosmos from sailor moon stars.
So where to start with this one i guess is with why I like sailor cosmos. She only shows up briefly in the manga, but i am completely in love with not only her design, but who she is. In the short time she appears she lets us see that she like all of us are humans and make mistakes, she isn't perfect despite her being clad in all white, and her angelic wings.
Anyways since 03 i've been hoping to do this costume. I'm not a wig person, and most of the costumes i do don't require props. But i also wanted to make sure my sewing skills developed quite a bit before i touched it, because i wanted it to be perfect. It's so white and pure i didn't want to have to constantly undo things if i were to mess up XD;
So for the past 2 years i've been collecting materials to make cosmos, and decided that this ax 2009 masquerade would be the place to do it. It was the big motivator to actually make the costume, as i'd been scared to sit down and finally make it.
So first up is this portrait. You can see the wig pretty well, here it is literally my first wig i've ever styled. And lets just say i hated it!! Pigtailed styles just suck =/ Plus the wig is awfully small, so i had to have it strategically pinned down. The hearts buns were tricky to cover, and i am still surprised at how clean they turned out honestly! the heart shape was just not very easy to cover like a normal bun =/
That's all for now, as there will be more pics of this to come, and i don't want to delve into the process really as i spent a lot of my own time in designing, and coming up my own techniques for my costume ^^
