Sugary Sweet Sailor

better late than never right? School keeps me super busy so i wasn't able to upload this sooner, but either way here is my sugary pink sailor costume i made for halloween this year!

*construction notes* This was based off of a leg avenue costume, but i'm a poor college student, and i really don't have spare cash often, so i just used what i had lying around so i'd have something fun to wear on halloween, and not hurt my wallet!

I changed a few things to my liking, like the pleat length, using gold trim along the tops edge, and making a bow that fit the design more =3 I have a TON of plain pink fabric, and decided to use it for this. I altered a dress pattern that wasn't a halter style. So i shaped it into one ^_^ I also added darts into this since there was only 2 darts on the back of the dress, so it was very loose and baggy before i fitted it to myself. After adding the darts to the front it fit so much nicer! My only nit-pick is I cut just a lil too deep into the side of the top of the dress, but other than that, it's really cute and was fun to wear.

Also in the the end this costume was only 10$. 5$ went towards the trim, buttons, and zipper. The other 5$ was spent on the sailor hat ^^ And it's always nice to use spare fabric~!
